I am a Title I teacher, so know tutoring is a must, and a grandparent. When I tutor, I focus on how the student learns the most efficiently and work hard to accomplish full comprehension in a subject to ensure their success. Some of my methods include task analysis, in which I help a struggling student by identifying what's troubling them and build from a specific skill/task. Also, I teach evidence-based strategies, which are useful in helping one master standardized tests. I strongly believe in building confidence as it empowers students with the strength to succeed.Specific topics I tutor in include elementary/middle school math, pre-algebra, reading, writing, literature, and STAAR test prep.I earned my degree at Texas A&M University - Commerce. Here I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, specializing in the area of Special Education. In addition, I have a master's degree in Educational Administration which I received from Lamar University. I am currently living in Forney, Texas, within 20 minutes of my children and grandchildren. They're all involved in sports and love to keep my schedule full! There's nothing more I like to do in my spare time than spend valuable time with my family.
